HP TouchPad this, its shelf WebOS

At his press conference "Think Beyond" (seen on YouTube) HP has unveiled, among other things, his new tablet WebOS, the TouchPad. Jonathan is Rubeinstein, former PD G Palm and now a leader of HP since its acquisition (see "HP buys Palm 1.2 billion), which presented the various products launched under the WebOS mark Palo Alto.

That which interests us most is the long awaited tablet, TouchPad is the first model of the firm. It will be on the market during summer 2011 at a price that is still unknown. One thing is for sure. Hope to be successful, it will be well below the $ 800 tablet Motorola. The TouchPad is based on Snapdragon processor dual core 1.2 GHz APQ8060.

One diagonal and a resolution identical to the iPad (9.7 inch 1024 x 768), he embarked 1GB of memory and will be available in version 16 GB and 32 GB He has a photo sensor at the front of the camera of 1.3 Megapixels and modules 3G and 4G, and Wi-Fi classics n and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. It has a battery of 6300 mAh (6600 mAh cons for iPad) and weighs 740 g (730 g cons for the 3G version of the iPad).

HP will also offer an optional touchscreen that acts as charger door TouchPad, a Bluetooth keyboard and a carrying bag. The operating system was called WebOS 2.1 by the former PD G Palm. Specifically, it represents a buy HP has added hundreds of developers in the project, while maintaining controls to Mr.

Rubenstein. A first version will be available in the U.S. today, pending other Palm devices running on that platform. We have very little information on specific software layer TouchPad, except that it will support Flash Player 10.1 and that applications will obey the model card stack already known about the Palm Pre.

Let us finally on the device name. HP has made a big mistake by naming TouchPad as is already the English name of the touchpad as a mouse used on laptops. TouchPad Tapping on Google, you end up with a host of products that have nothing to do with the tablet of Palo Alto. The company therefore creates unnecessary confusion about a product that will face extremely tough competition.
