Broadcom formalizes its ARM Cortex A9

Broadcom has announced the availability of its ARM Cortex A9, the BCM28150. The SoC has the VideoCore graphics module of the firm that supports the OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0 and own a fillrate Gpixels than 1 per second. This level of PowerVR SGX 535. It also accelerates the flow 1080p video at 30 frames per second.

Designed for smartphones, the SoC integrates a processor for image sensor 20 Megapixels, and supports HSDPA and HSUPA + and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and NFC. Manufactured in 40 nm, the processor is clocked at 1.1 GHz and memory (LPDDR2) at 400 MHz. It will now wait for the manufacturers to incorporate into their design BCM28150.
