The microprocessor giant Intel announced the creation of 3D transistors called Tri-Gate, the new technique debuted its next generation of processors on 22nm Ivy Bridge. According to Intel, these new 3D transistors manufactured in 22nm delivered up to 37% more performance with a low voltage when compared with transistors "flat" manufactured in 32nm, plus these new 3D transistors consume half the energy without affecting performance.
