HP and webOS for new tablet and smartphone

Yesterday HP held an event to present to the press the latest in a tablet and mobile solutions. The American manufacturer has also unveiled the first implementation of webOS born after the acquisition of Palm is dedicated to the "tablet devices." The HP tablet TouchPad with 9.7-inch screen is in fact based on the new version of the Palm operating system webOS designed to take advantage of large touch screens.

It offers several new features like the tab for the app, and having split windows that take advantage of operating system support than the orientation of the screen, users can customize the onscreen keyboard, choosing from four different possibilities. Much attention has been paid to the synergy between applications with the possibility to pass data between them, post directly to Twitter and manage notifications with a filtering system.

Flash support is now a basic feature as is also the standard for HTML5. webOS is also a truly multitasking operating system and this allows the user to run several applications in the background. The device is also interesting to see in action the second generation of the Touchstone technology that makes it possible to charge the phone not only wireless but check time, GPS and other applications from the charger and exchange data with other devices such as, for example, share Link with other users with telephone webOS.

HP has taken into serious consideration the availability of content with the new HP movie Storedal which you can download movies and television shows. Compared to the past, HP has worked very well on the hardware platform that includes a Snapdragon processor 1.2 GHz dual-core, graphics core 220 Adreno, 1.3-megapixel front camera can capture photos and video and manage video calls (no camera rear), Audio Technology Beats like this on the latest models of HP notebooks and desktops with a pair of headphones bundled.

The device weighs 725g and has a thickness of 1.37 cm, measures similar to those of an Apple iPad 6.300mAh despite the battery. The availability of the first versions of the TouchPad is expected by next summer. Initially configurations come with Wi-Fi 16GB and 32GB models were followed by 3G and 4G.

No pricing information but will probably be more appealing than the competitors. In addition to the tablet, HP has removed the veil from the two new smartphoneindirizzoPre3 and Veer are also based on webOS 2.1. Veer The model has been labeled as one of the smallest smartphone with a front surface no bigger than a credit card.

The 2.6 inch display with a resolution of 320x400 pixels hides a slide-out physical keyboard and a 800MHz processor enough to run Flash sites and HSPA + 3G. The model is an interesting upgrade Pre3 pre2 made available only a few months ago and uses a 3.6-inch display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels, a front camera, a rear, a 1.4 GHz processor and HSPA + and EVDO Revision A.

The availability of Veer is scheduled for early spring and Pre3 will follow in the summer.
