The future of antennas goes through printing

Researchers at the University of Illinois have developed a manufacturing process that prints an antenna on a surface and provides a level of performance potential. With the miniaturization of our electronic devices, manufacture of the antenna is more and more complex. The idea of \u200b\u200bprinting the antenna using a head that will be applied on a surface of the nanoparticles is not new.

Nevertheless, the volume occupied by performance report was disappointing. This is the first time, researchers said, that such antennas are printed on a curved surface, showing that it is possible to adapt this technique to many products. The challenge was to ensure the proper filing of the metallic ink, even when the print head approaches the surface with a difficult angle.

Also using metal nanoparticles and silver head of 100 m, which is impressive for its small size, they have managed to get interesting performances that suggest it will be possible to use this technology for mass production . The results were published in the journal Advanced Materials of this month.
