Afoxé HD6850 creates a single-slot 6-pin

Afoxé Corporation, a Hong Kong partner of both AMD and nVidia, has developed an interesting model of video card based on chip Barts PRO (Radeon HD 6850) which presents an alternative design of the cooling system and the PCB. The special heat sink occupies a single slot, against two of the reference solution and uses a low-profile fan in the front position.

The circuit board in addition to being more compact without the extra PCIe power connector 6-pin, this means that the card can operate using only the power provided by the PCI-Express mainboard. Despite the substantial changes in the two-1024D5S1 AF6850, the acronym of the new full VGA Afoxé - provides technical specifications are taken from the AMD reference board: GPU with 960 Stream Processors, a GPU clock of 775 MHz, 1024 MB of video memory GDDR5 256-bit bus and clocked at 4000 MHz is currently not clear how the producer of Hong Kong has managed to maintain these specifications and at the same time lowering fuel consumption in full-load from 127W AMD reported by only 75W under PCIe slot.

Probably the power supply of the core (vGPU) was lowered further. It should also be told that motherboards are able to provide many more watts on the PCIe x16 (x16 and PCIe 2.0) compared to the 75W PCI-SIG specified by the Committee. The AF6850 has a DVI video outputs, HDMI, DisplayPort and miniDP .
