Yesterday, the giant U.S. chip-maker has officially unveiled the 990X Core i7 Extreme Edition, a new proposal based on top of the line core Gulftown (Westmere architecture with native 6-core).

The only change from the previous top model Core i7 EE 980X is the increase in clock rate, which fell from 3.33MHz to 3.46MHz, because the rest of the specifications is always the same manufacturing process to 32nm, LGA -1366, 130W TDP, multiplied unlocked upwards and 12MB of shared L3 cache, as well as price on the trade: $ 999.
