HTML5 completed in 3 years

The W3C has released the new schedule for the HTML5 with the deadline for final review in May 2011 and set the standard for completion of 2014. "Last Call" (final call in French) is the phase where the W3C invites communities to confirm the format specifications. It is a kind of final reading to ensure consistency.

It was not until engineers determine that all features (feature complete), but it will already be possible to have a first look at all facets of the language. To be finalized and be recommended by the W3C, HTML5 needs a set of tools to ensure interoperability with various media supposed to support.

So there will also work on its implementation. The language is the subject of a fierce battle the opponent in Adobe Flash (see "The HTML5 has its official logo). Adherence to this schedule will be crucial, because delays will only delay its democratization and weaken its position. It will, however, that the W3C ensures that the integration of proprietary technology is not synonymous with the trial, in addition to coordinating its efforts with the vast list of members of that consortium.
