SATA Express 16-Gbps SATA

The SATA-IO (Serial ATA International Organization, the body responsible for developing various standards SATA) is currently working on a new SATA, SATA called Express. The future standard is expected to achieve speeds of about 8 Gbps to 16 Gbps, while the current rises to SATA 6 Gbps. To reach such speeds, the standard SATA Express should follow the structure of the software but rely on the SATA PCI-Express 3.0.

The final specifications of SATA Express should be defined by the end of the year. Remains to be seen from when the first available devices and controllers that standard.
