Sony just announced a new PlayStation, the CECH-3000B. It's almost the twentieth revision of the console hardware (including changes in hard disk capacity) and the new model is more "green." The console includes a 320 GB hard drive and from 3 pounds to 2.6 pounds. Consumption is also down, with a power of 200 W instead of 230 W.
The console does not change the price, but Sony has built a small change in the reading of Blu-ray: It is mandatory to use the digital output (HDMI) to play Blu-ray in 1080p. If one tries to read a Blu-ray (or AACS protected content) on the analog output (YUV), the flow is automatically limited to 480i.
For the rest, Sony is also expected to propose - at the same price - a version with a 160 GB hard drive and the game Tales of Xili.
