Micron: slight decline in sales

The manufacturer Micron has just released its financial results for its third fiscal quarter 2011, which ended on June 2. Revenues reached $ 2.13 billion, slightly down from last year. Earnings reached for his $ 75 million, up slightly from the second quarter (72 million) but well below the profit of $ 939 million recorded a year ago.

According to Micron, the revenue decline was due to falling sales of DRAM (which results in a decrease of 7% of revenues) and by the contraction of 5% of revenues generated by sales of NAND flash memory due to lower average chips.
