What actually changes in iPhone White

The iPhone 4 white, actually available since last week when it was announced in June 2010, is finally a bit different from the iPhone 4 black. Indeed, the white hull has obviously put a lot of problems to Apple and the company had to make some minor modifications on the aircraft. First thing, the camera.

Indeed, and the model of "preproduction" we have removed this problem arose, the white hull amplifies the effect of the flash "LED" of the device and creates a whiteout on the photos when it is used. Apple has changed the camera, the sensor is placed much further back than the black version.

Remains to determine whether this small change has an effect. On the other hand, Apple has also changed the proximity sensor. The latter is very important on touchscreen phones: it disables the screen when the phone is placed on the ear, to avoid unwanted actions. With the iPhone 4 white, it was a problem and Apple has made two changes: the sensor has been changed - although the photos show - an area at the top of the phone was kept dark so that it works properly.

Finally, the iPhone is thicker 4 white, according to preliminary tests. The difference is minimal (0.2 mm) but is problematic with some covers very well adjusted. So we have to be very careful with iPhone 4: covers do not pass on all versions, the CDMA iPhone 4 - reserved for the U.S. market - which in turn slightly offset buttons.
