Radeon HD 6550: the next AMD APU

In "Llano", the next APU from AMD, the graphics will be named Radeon HD 6550. Explain. An APU is - according to AMD - a chip that combines a processor, a memory controller and a graphics card. The first APU brand is named Brazzos and is used in netbooks and bottom-end solutions. Llano, meanwhile, will be an APU midrange.

Llano will be engraved in 32nm and propose a graphical part which should be more efficient than what is currently available. The Radeon HD 6550, integrated in the processor will be clocked at 594 MHz and offer 400 units of calculation. As a reminder, Brazzos has 80 computer units clocked at 280 MHz (Radeon HD 6250) or 500 MHz (Radeon HD 6310).

We should have a computing power increased fivefold (approximately), although the memory does not see its bandwidth increase in the same proportions. As a bonus, it would be possible to make the game Crossfire between integrated and external graphics card like Radeon HD 6570 or 6670. It remains to verify a point: if the graph should fight without the problems of PGI Sandy Bridge Intel processor will he go?
