News of Micron P300

The Micron P300, a DSS professional, shows up. This SSD is close to the C300 but uses SLC memory instead of the conventional MLC. Available in three sizes - 50, 100 and 200 GB - the P300 has high performance. Like the C300, it uses a SATA 6 Gbit / s, capable of 600 Mb / s at best, but the performances are of 360 MB / s read and 275 Mb / s.

Unlike the C300, the three versions DSS reach flows, while the C300 is limited to 64 GB 75 MB / s, for example. And unlike models based SandForce, debits announced do not take into account a possible data compression ... For the rest, Micron announces MBTF 2 million hours and 60,000 IOPS random read.

Random write, the company announced 45,000 IOPS. Consumption is measured with a maximum of 2.5 W of average consumption over the 200 GB, 1.9 GB on the 64 W and 2.2 W on 128 GB remains to see the price, SLC memory, if is successful, is usually very expensive.
