1 TB per tray at Samsung

At CeBIT, Samsung has shown a particular disc: a capacity of 2 TB, he contented himself with two plates. This unprecedented density - the best hard drives are limited to 750 GB - should allow Samsung to offer 4TB models in the future. The hard drive is one of the future Ecogreen F6 Samsung, so it runs at 5400 rpm, offers 32 MB of cache and uses a SATA 6 Gbit / s totally unnecessary here, the hard drive is not even really able to saturate Interface SATA 1.5 Gbit / s.

In addition to plates of 3.5-inch 1TB, Samsung has announced a 1 TB Spinpoint M8 uses two 500GB platters, like the latest models from Seagate. The output of this model is planned for April with a SATA 3 Gbit / s, 8 MB cache and a rotational speed of 5400 rpm. For those who need storage in a notebook, this drive should be interesting: the thickness of 9.5 mm is more standard than the 12.5 mm of part of the large capacity hard drives.
