1 million households connected to FTTH

The fiber deployment continues in France, and the number of homes connected to FTTH just crossed the symbolic threshold of one million, which was also the target for Arcep December 31, 2010. More precisely, 1.08 million homes were connected to the end of last year, or 35% more than a year ago. 175,000 homes are connected by at least two operators, against only 10 000 at the end of the previous year.

If the deployment is progressing well, however this is not really the case of subscriptions. Indeed, between September and December, only 15,000 households have chosen to subscribe to an offer FTTH Internet access, bringing the total to 115,000 subscriptions. In the same time, the offers of FTTB Numéricable conquered 25,000 subscribers, bringing the total number of subscribers to 345 000 ...
