Nokia Phone 7 passes to Windows, but keep MeegGo and Symbian

Admission of failure of Nokia, the company announced that its next major operating system for smartphones will not be MeeGo or Symbian but Windows Phone 7. The rumor would run for several days as Symbian, the Finnish giant's system, is criticized for several years and sales of smartphones it felt. First, high-end brand will therefore be offered in Windows 7 Phone, a preferred system for its interface, original and effective.

Nokia and Microsoft will work together to define the future of Windows 7 Phone and the platform should open a little longer: Currently, Windows 7 Phone is limited to models from the mid and upper range because Microsoft has imposed restrictions material drastic that all phones are powerful.

The partnership with Nokia is expected to offer less-expensive (and in theory less efficient). At the software level, Bing will the search engine default Nokia and Microsoft should improve its location-based services with the expertise of Nokia, which had bought Navteq particular, one of the biggest names in this field.

Nokia applications will obviously proposed in the Market Place and agreements between Nokia and the operators will be able to use a payment unpublished at Microsoft: directly on the invoice of the subscriber. Currently, the credit card that is the system used, and it is a problem in developing countries.

Interestingly, if Windows 7 Phone becomes the main platform, Symbian and MeeGo are not abandoned. Nokia expects to sell another 150 million Symbian devices in the future, mainly so-called "Feature Phones" or devices between the smartphone and the traditional telephone, with some dedicated applications and the ability to surf the Internet.

Nokia will also release a camera MeeGo this year. In practice, Nokia tries to minimize the loss of market share by partnering with Microsoft, which offers a platform that is currently the antithesis of Symbian: Windows 7 Phone applications are easy to grow, the system is recognized as One of the most intuitive on the market with its very clear interface and all existing terminals have similar characteristics, which enables all the applications available on any device.

The stock market did not greet this announcement with enthusiasm: the Nokia share price is currently losing 9.66% on the Amsterdam stock exchange
