Google TV: Google buys SageTV

SageTV produces DVR software for Mac X and Windows. The software manufacturer announced on Saturday that it "was extremely happy" to have been bought by Google. SageTV promises to cooperate with the greater global community of users on different products, platforms and services.

Google TV, since the autumn in the U.S. market, should be available worldwide in 2011. Only a few products are available. Rights problems, especially in local markets, but also unresolved technical problems delayed its distribution.

Google TV is a web browser that is integrated into the flat-screen TVs. The service aims to merge television and Internet together and make videos and TV from a variety of sources available.
