3D Mark Vantage evolves

Good news for fans Benchmarks: 3D Mark Vantage evolves. Indeed, a new version 1.1 has just appeared and it brings with it new. The first is that the version of "Basic Edition" is now free instead of $ 7 earlier. The second is that the benchmark offers more choices for the definition - in its "advanced" - and no longer restricted to predefined choices.

Another small change, test that uses PhysX - and that fostered NVIDIA cards - no longer enabled by default. It is especially interesting to test laptops: they do not generally run 3DMark Vantage, which until now required a screen 1280 x 1024 while the laptops are often limited to 1280 x 800 or at 1366 x 768.

The only alternatives were thus still 3DMark 06, which is getting old and does not use DirectX 10 and 3DMark '11, which requires a DirectX 11 card, which prevents the PGI test. Download 3DMark Vantage 1.1 in the repository of Tom's Hardware
