Dell abandons Adamo

Dell has officially signed the death warrant its ultraportable, the Adamo, whose greatness was only launched matched only by its failure. The Adamo 13, released in March 2009, was intended to be the crown jewel of Texas. Supposed to compete with the MacBook Air, the manufacturer has released with great fanfare with teasers and conferences (see "The luxury ultraportable Dell Adamo finally launched").

The beginnings were hard-working and updating, the XPS Adamo, failed to make a difference. Dell has cut prices several times, then break them before Christmas to sell stocks. The manufacturer has now withdrawn its catalog. Rumors still speak of a return of the mark within six months. What went wrong? Probably a much heavier computer and $ 200 more expensive than the MacBook Air.

We believe Dell had simply wanted to attract a market that has eluded them. Sales volumes of the MacBook Air are weak, but Apple is a brand that attracts much the target audience for this kind of machine, which is why it continues to sell the unit. Nevertheless, even Cupertino decided to propose a less expensive model to boost sales.

Dell could do the same if the rumors are confirmed.
