Intel has appointed Andy Bryant as Vice President of the Executive Committee. It should replace the current director, Jane Shaw, who will retire in May 2012. This appointment reflects the type of strategy that the founder wishes to maintain. Jane Shaw arrived at his post in May 2009. She then replaced Craig Barrett, a doctor of science was considered a visionary technology company.
It marks a fundamental break in strategy since Ms. Shaw came from the world of management. She has led many companies and has held management positions within Intel in 1993. The committee seems to be satisfied with that direction since Andy Bryant is from the same world. It was Intel's chief financial officer for thirteen years before becoming executive director.
The Executive Committee has 11 members currently pending retirement of Ms. Shaw that will bring that number to 10, the statement from Intel.
