5.0 iOS bring updates wireless

5 iOS inaugurate updates the operating system directly from the telephone network operator, allowing those who wish not to connect their phones to iTunes to get the latest updates. However, Apple should get the approval of operators to use their network in this way, which will not be an easy task. It will necessarily reduce the size of updates that run today around 600 MB and represent the entire operating system.

These files are heavy, which explains that Apple also provides an ipsw version of the operating system that can be downloaded from its website, which allows, among others, to assist smaller connections to obtain correction to date without having to go through iTunes that contains the download times from the beginning in case of loss of connection.

Apple could simply provide only patches of a size smaller and therefore more easily downloadable from a 3G network. The technology appears ready in every case since the last Apple TV, which has a declination of IOS can be updated without using iTunes. The updated wireless system are not new.

Android, and Windows 7 Phone webOS them already support. Apple has a step behind. It is becoming an important gap for the iPad is the computer of the future according to the vision of Steve Jobs who compared today's machines to tractors during an interview with journalists from The Wall Street Journal.

The problem is that the tablet always requires a computer to be updated. This would in any case a step closer to the enfranchisement of iTunes which is sometimes criticized. U.S. operators have declined comment. Apple should make iOS 5 during the WWDC to be held next June.
