The Xoom Motorola sold to 599 €

Motorola has announced the European price of the tablet will be identical to the U.S. price level of 599 €. While sales in the U.S. are very disappointing, the firm expects that an outflow on the old continent will give a boost to the popularity of its iPad killer. The release date remains uncertain.

Motorola says it still will be "soon" on sale in France without giving further details. The news comes just after the publication of sales figures by Detutsche-Bank says that only 100,000 units were sold, against 2.5 million iPad 2. Obviously, the Xoom is only available in North America, while the model with the apple is already offered in over twenty countries.

The problem is that the selling price of Xoom is 8 € more expensive than the iPad 2 Wi-Fi 32 GB that competition. However, Apple now has a clear edge over the market shelves and technical considerations aside, we doubt that this pricing policy means encourages consumers to abandon the popular choice of the moment.
