OCZ Acquires Indilinx Co., Ltd to improve its technology SSD

OCZ announced the signing of definitive agreement to acquire the company Indilinx Co., Ltd, which until now was a fabless provider's own drivers and software flash SSD. Indilinx headquarters is located in South Korea, and currently sells its line of drivers flash SSD manufacturers and Tier 1 OEM for use in a wide range of products in many markets, including integrated systems, and notebooks and complete.

Indilinx controllers have been used in the OCZ SSD since December 2008, and now present in the Z-Drive series PCIe. It is expected that Indilinx technology enables OCZ to expand its range of embedded systems market, hybrid storage and industrial markets. OCZ gain a fairly substantial intellectual property, including approximately 20 patents Indilinx and patent applications that relate exclusively to this transaction.

For example, it is expected that this acquisition extends the capabilities of OCZ with advanced controller technology, including Tinkerbell, a high-performance advanced controller that replaces eMMC SSD 4.4x in end products such as smartphones, tablet PCs, GPS and netbooks. Tinkerbell increases the user experience on mobile devices for applications such as Internet browsers, gaming, social networking, emails, and multimedia.
