Injection of money: 42 million dollars: Warm windfall for developers of the 'Angry Birds'

A spokeswoman for the Finnish software developer Rovio confirmed media reports of a new round of investment on this scale. At the top of the donors are the investment firms Accel Partners and Atomico Ventures, behind which in turn is the Skype founders Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis. Angry Birds is now on millions of smartphones.

Alone in December last year Rovio registered 25 million downloads to iPhone and on mobile phones with Google Android system. On the wave of success Rovio awards licenses to toy makers and film producers. Rovio manager Peter Vesterbacka said earlier this year, the news agency: "We want to be bigger than Mickey Mouse." Rovio was founded in 2003 by three students in Helsinki.
