The NASDAQ has seen a recent and rapid rise of the action AMD (+ 42%) during the day yesterday, an increase fueled by a crazy rumor: Dell would buy AMD. This rumor makes some of its roots in the sudden and unexplained departure of CEO and chief financial officer of AMD, two key figures who have still not been replaced.
Such a vertical merger would however not easy to implement, especially if one recalls that AMD has just digest ATI. Nothing is impossible, however, and AMD, which weighs only 5.8 billion dollars in stock market is within the scope of Dell (27 billion dollars).
