The next Apple processor, which is now nicknamed the A6 and A5 succeed found in the iPad 2, integrating four cores Cortex A9 engraved in 28 nm, according to Linley Gwennap, an analyst for The Linley Group, whose remarks were reported by PC World. The expert confirmed that TSMC be responsible for making chips that will be produced that next year, which would put the release of the upcoming Apple tablet intended to include the A6 around June 2012.

AMD unveils dual-core APU E2 and A4-3200-3400
The E-450, E300 and C-60 are not the only APU have recently appeared in the catalog of AMD. The manufacturer has indeed formalize the A4 and E2-3400-3200, two APU desktop, however, which we suspected the existence in the month of June A priori based on the architecture Llano, two dual-core APU are etched into 32 nm.
Using a socket FM1, the A4 and E2-3400-3200 show a TDP of 65 watts respectively and are clocked at 2.7 GHz and 2.4 GHz. There are also 128 KB of L1 cache and 512 KB of L2 cache per core. The side of the integrated graphics, E2-3200 embeds a Radeon HD 6370D (with a priori SP 160 clocked at 443 MHz), while the A4-3400 has a Radeon HD 6410D (with probably 160 SP running 600 MHz).

IBM Processor mimics human brain
Last week, IBM unveiled two processors whose architecture is directly inspired by the brain. They boarded the "neurons" which are comprised of nodes "synapses" programmable integrating both a memory and a computer center. Eventually, engineers hope that this platform called SYNAPSE (Systems of Neuromorphic Adaptive Plastic Scalable Electronics) will draw conclusions and to reprogram its own.
AMD formalizes three new APU Brazos
AMD has - finally - to formalize three new models of APU: the E-450, E-300 and C-60. Etched in 40 nm, the APU are so cool some of the Brazos platform manufacturer. The E-450 is a model involving two Zacate Bobcat x86 cores clocked at 1.65 GHz (1.6 GHz cons for x86 cores of the E-350), a memory controller supports DDR3-1333 and Radeon graphics chipset HD 6320 with 80 Stream processors running at 508 MHz (but with a Turbo mode pushing up the frequency to 600 MHz).

AMD: Some details of the APU and Krishna Wichita
Some details about the APU Wichita and Krishna come to emerge on the canvas. Etched in 28 nm, both APU should take over from current Zacate and Ontario next year. These chips for up to 4 cores x86 Bobcat, a graphics chipset supports DirectX 11, a video decoder and a controller UVD3 Yuba responsible for I / O (SATA, USB2.0/3.0 and audio).
2 MB of L2 cache would also be integrated, while the turbo-Core would be in the game. The memory controller in turn accept the DDR3-1600. The future platform for Decca, the APU will adopt a new socket FT2, where Zacate and Ontario use a socket FT1. As for performance, we should finally expect a "bond" of 25% CPU side and more than 25% GPU side.

Two Core i7 i5 and a retired
Intel is soon to retire three processors on socket LGA 1156, ie, i5-655k (3.2 GHz), Core i5-760 (2.8 GHz) and Core i7-875K (2.93 GHz). The depth should no longer accept orders for these three models from February 24, 2012. Deliveries of the versions "box" of the CPU continue to take place as necessary, but those for versions "tray" will not take place after August 10, 2012.

Google would prefer the OMAP 4 for Android 4.0
Google has chosen the OMAP 4 for its development platform Android 4.0, which means that the vast majority of the first smartphones shipping Ice Cream Sandwich should use the SoC Texas Instruments. A public relations officer of Texas sent a picture of some journalists and Cnet Android and Me showing rather close relations between the two protagonists.
Andy Rubin, vice president of the mobile division of Google, admitted to our colleagues at Android and Me that the publisher chose a semiconductor manufacturer, an operator and an OEM and assembled a development platform that was used daily to engineers. In practice this means that the first products to be marketed are often very close to the platform that serves as a reference.

AMD: 20 cores in 2012
The explosion in the number of cores in the AMD CPU is confirmed. While a processor roadmap already announced to the public 10 hearts in 2012, the Komodo, a second CPU roadmap predicts today to 20 servers hearts for that year. These processors will consist of two chips to 10 cores, assembled in the same package.
The development is small in absolute terms compared to the Zambezi Bulldozer (8-core, general public) and Interlagos Opteron (16 cores, servers) that we should see happen around the September 19, but the trend is there. One wonders where AMD has to stop, she had nevertheless anticipated the end of the war of hearts.

The Tegra 3 released in the fall
NVIDIA has confirmed that the tablets shipping Kal-El, the code name of the Tegra 3, will arrive in the fall, while the first smartphones will be presented at CES 2012. The version of the Tablet Tegra 3 with a processor quad core ARM Cortex A9 and a circuit graph from 8 to 12 shader units. It can support a resolution of 1920 x 1200 video and Blu-ray.
Announced in February last, the chip will be engraved in 40nm and will have features less ambitious than the rumors suggested in February. NVIDIA has even made a promising technology demonstration at last May.

Foxconn replace its workers with robots
Terry Gou, founder and director of Foxconn, has admitted that its factories would use one million robots in three years. It now has only 10 000 robots and is expected to have 300,000 by the end of next year. It is a rapid expansion that could be an answer to the problems encountered with the foundry employees.
Foxconn recently made headlines because of a significant number of employees committing suicide because, according to some testimonies, poor working conditions.

AMD gains market share
The last time we broached the subject of market shares of AMD and Intel, we were based on a study that looked iSuppli Intel winner (what a surprise!) And rising. Boom! A new study by Mercury Research said today that AMD has instead taken market share from Intel with the success of Fusion APU. An important difference between the two studies is that of iSuppli covers the entire microprocessor market, while that of Mercury Research is limited to x86 compatible CPUs.

Roadmap: The Ivy Bridge Intel released in April 2012
Sweclockers our colleagues got their hands on what looks like a roadmap of Intel built in week 13 is the end of March. It details the planning of testing and launch of the processors Ivy Bridge. One hand it confirms once again the launch window of March-April 2012. The launch of the architecture (which is a tick at Intel, an improved model and a previous architecture, by Sandy Bridge) would be with quad processors, the dual-core next few weeks.

The Zambezi FX 8 cores will be sold at $ 300
A quiz on the site of AMD has forced the manufacturer unveiled the approximate price of future AMD FX-81xx, which revolve around $ 300, which puts them at a Core i7-2600K (3.4 - 3.8 GHz, 95 W). This information confirms the rumors that we reported in June last and who claimed that the AMD FX-8130P $ 320 will be sold.
For the record, this processor runs at 3.8 GHz, has a turbo mode to 4.2 GHz and a TDP of between 105 W and 130 W. It is important to note that Intel, the TDP is usually an average value and not the maximum consumption of the processor, which may explain the differences on paper between the chip d Intel and AMD, but the results probably similar in the end.

Atom latest in Razer Switchblade
Razer has not abandoned the concept Switchblade. Instead, the company announces it has chosen as the latest processor Intel Atom, the Z690. The Atom Z690 is part of the Moorestown platform unveiled in spring 2010. It cap with its frequency of 1.7 GHz, 200 MHz higher than the Z670. The integrated GPU is still the GMA600, a PowerVR SGX535 400 MHz.
Remember, this is the same GPU as the iPhone 3G and 4, but with a frequency doubled. We still do not know the screen resolution chosen by Razer, but given what he can do on an iPhone 4 in 960 x 640, the Switchblade might be a good machine. The Switchblade, however, still lack a date of marketing.

The Opteron Bulldozer Interlagos on the run
Genuine mistake or flight organized? The fact is that the characteristics (supposedly) some Opteron Bulldozer "Interlagos" AMD have "accidentally" found online on the website of Gateway. Since then, the manufacturer has cleared the course in question, but our colleagues BSN still have had time to take a screenshot.
Warning, this information should be taken with the tongs essential. The characteristics of four models Opteron Bulldozer, namely the Opteron 6220, 6234, 6272 and 6276, are therefore - at least temporarily - appeared on the web. The Opteron 6220 should be a model with 8 cores running at 3 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache and 8 MB of L3 cache.

The Bulldozer FX launched on September 19?
Good example of viral marketing: AMD has released a short film on YouTube featuring "FX" a hero saving the world from bad guys very naughty. If you look carefully you will discover in this video one time half hidden "mber 19th." By imagining that Bulldozer will be launched on September 19, there is only one step.
But one can also read "November 19th". We let you choose the hypothesis that seems most likely ...

Intel publishes excellent results and think to 7 nm
Intel has released its financial results for the second quarter of this year and the figures are very encouraging. He announced a record turnover of $ 13.1 billion, an increase of 22% over last year and a profit of $ 3.2 billion, an increase of 10%. The founder also reported weaknesses and plans for the future.
If the sales increased by 2% this quarter, profits fell by 3%, which is relatively good sign as the second quarter is normally slower than the first. These figures are even more remarkable that a study by IDC shows that demand for PCs grew by only 2.6% compared to 2010. The decline in profits may also be partly explained by the fact that the founder has spent $ 2 billion to repurchase 93 million shares.

Athlon II and II, AMD Phenom, on the sly
AMD has introduced two new processors, without fanfare. And for good reason: it is not APU (Fusion), but simple K10. The first is an Athlon X2 II running at 3.4 GHz, the model 270. It offers 1 MB of cache per core, has a TDP of 65 W and is worth € 65. The second is a "false" Phenom X4, the 850. Indeed, this model clocked at 3.3 GHz with a TDP of 95 W is based on the Propus die like Athlon X4 II.
TSMC produce processors A6Apple
TSMC would have started making the first copies of test A6 Apple ARM processors, according to Reuters. This announcement therefore confirms the rumors of who said last June that Apple had to abandon Samsung TSMC for strategic and technology (see "Apple is going to make its processors elsewhere"). According to Reuters, Apple has not yet completed the abandonment of its processors for Samsung A6.
