Amazon has, in the U.S., smartphone surprising: it is compatible with the satellite phone. Indeed, this model is able to connect to a traditional network - the 850/1900 MHz 3G at AT & T - but also to TerraStar satellites, which offers telephony throughout the United States. The smartphone, sold $ 900, operates under a conventional operating system, Windows Mobile 6.5.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the smartphone incorporates a GPS receiver. A microSD slot is the portion (16 GB maximum), but the internal memory is not indicated. There is also a 2.6-inch touchscreen at 320 x 240, a full keyboard and a 2 megapixel camera. But if the technology is interesting for backpackers - they remain in the U.S.
