The compatibility of processors Ivy Bridge with the current LGA 1155 platform is one of question marks about future Intel processors. Indeed, although the processors are physically compatible with the current Sandy Bridge, he was so far unclear whether the chipsets Phanta Point (6 Series) of the caster will be able to operate with Ivy Bridge.
If you believe a document capture Donanimhaber published by the site, it would appear that the Ivy Bridge processors are indeed compatible (as we supposed) with some 6 series chipsets from Intel (The P67, H67 , H61 and Z68), with an updated BIOS. However Chipsets Q65, Q67 and B65, for the professional market, will not be compatible with upcoming CPU's founder.
If this information was confirmed in the coming weeks, this should certainly reassure the current owners of a motherboard P67 or H67 for the sustainability of their platform ...
