GIGABYTE X58A-OC: Designed for Overclockers, for Overclockers

Gigabyte announced the launch of the Gigabyte GA-X58A-OC, the first plate in the world designed from scratch for extreme overclockers. Has been designed specifically for overclocking, and defines a new category of plates designed especially for enthusiasts, incorporating aspects of isolation and tweaking never seen before.

"The GIGABYTE X58A-OC amazing technologies and unique features such as the PWM switch, a complete set of hardware buttons to OC, onboard SATA power connectors for multiple graphic settings and switch DualBIOS so far only been discussed in private ideas forums and emails, "said HiCookie, in-house expert on overclocking GIGABYTE.

"Leaving aside the functionality of tweaking, we have included high-intensity components POScaps and MPFC (Max Power Ferrite Core) Chokes overclockers that provide more reliability and power so that they can break more world records. Having had the opportunity to collaborate on a plate specifically designed for overclockers, being an avid overclocker, is a dream come true, and I really hope that overclockers enjoy messing with this board as much as we design.

" The X58A-OC is based on the Intel X58 chipset (Tylersburg) with support for socket LGA1366, and takes all the performance advantages offered by the X58 platform, including support for triple-channel DDR3 memory, support for 6-core processors ( with 12 processing threads), and enough bandwidth to support PCIe 2.0 3-way SLI or 4-way CrossFireX.

Designed for Extreme Overclocking Gigabyte has paid special attention to the demands of overclockers community to ensure that the X58A-OC has all the overclocking features that fans have always wanted, while eliminating unnecessary or that some aspects can adversely affect performance (just as such a formula 1 car takes off with air conditioning, radio, passenger seat, etc.

.. to save weight). The layout has been a critical aspect in the design, not only in terms of the components used, but also in the spacing of the key components to ensure isolation as simple as possible, while maintaining optimal routes between different components. Gigabyte also has five new features focused on overclock: OC-VRM, OC-Touch, OC-PEG, and OC-OC-DualBIOS Cool.

OC-VRM The X58A-OC incorporates a new design called OC-VRM VRM, which includes a combination of superconducting POSCaps, MPFC (Max Power Ferrite Core), Chokes rated 50A and Driver-MOSFET, which combined offer more intensity processor power, improved efficiency, and lower temperatures. OC-VRM also allows users to modify the PWM frequency in real time for more power.

In addition Gigabyte has chosen not obtrusive components manufacturing and provision has been carefully designed for extreme overclockers can quickly and easily isolate the components. OC-OC-Touch Touch has the best system performance quickly and easily. Thanks to the specially designed buttons, users can increase or decrease the ratio of the processor BCLK change settings, and even change the BCLK stepping 1MHz or 0.3MHz.

These changes can be made "on the fly, regardless of whether we are in the BIOS, Windows, Linux, or whatever, in real time, and without restarting the computer. Ready 4G button allows overclockers to reach 4Ghz inexperienced automatically, while expert overclockers can use it to achieve before continuing 4Ghz OC-Touch to find the best room for your processor.

In addition, there are voltage measurement modules built for qeu can monitor the voltages of the components more easily. OC-OC-PEG PEG provides two SATA power connectors built into the motherboard to provide stable power PCIe configurations when used with 3 or 4 graphics cards. Each connector gets power from a different phase of the power supply, which translates into a more stable overclock graphics and improved.

Independent power inputs for PCIe slots, helping to improve the overclock graphics cards individually. Gigabyte recommends users to use 4-way CrossFireX to install CO-PEG, to prevent current overload in 24-pin ATX connector. All leads POScaps plate, helping to simplify the process of isolation for overclockers to reach the state sub-zero quickly.

OC-OC-Cool Cool is a new thermal design LED lighting. The 7 4-pin connectors enable Smart Fan overclockers can easily control the temperature of the entire system. The OC-Cool heatsink maximizes convection system to expel hot air through the IO panel and optimizes the passive cooling. To make matters worse, the LED lighting OC-Cool on North and South Bridges facilitates cooling X58A-OC.

OC-OC-DualBIOS DualBIOS is a BIOS switch and LED indicator, allowing users to select a BIOS for normal use and the other for the overclocking. It can also act as a backup BIOS if the BIOS fails during overclocking. Having two BIOS means that users can record up to 16 different profiles of overclocking, which is useful when the overclockers want to update the BIOS but do not want perfer their original settings.

Being able to switch between two different BIOSs, OC-DualBIOS also allows users to test a new BIOS without having to update both BIOSs with the same update, thus saving time and avoiding unnecessary BIOS flashed.
