The manufacturer Apacer announced the launch of a new external hard drive, the AC230. Available in capacities of 500 GB, 640 GB and 750 GB, hard disk 2.5-inch display sizes of 124 x 80 x 14 mm and has a USB 3.0 interface, of course backward compatible with USB 2.0. A red LED next to the USB connector to charge elsewhere indicate, via a color code, the type of connection (red for the USB 2.0, blue for the USB 3.0).
The hard drive used by the manufacturer is a working model at 5400 rpm and embedding 8 MB buffer. Performance-wise, the manufacturer claims speeds of around 92 MB / s read and 85 MB / s write, while the USB 3.0 of course. The AC230 also proposes a system for data backup (software PCClone EX Lite comes with the external hard drive) and has a power saving mode.
Apacer has unfortunately not yet indicated the price or availability date of this new product.
