With the Radeon HD 6990 and the new Catalyst, AMD has officially introduced support Eyefinity 5x1P mode (Portrait). Until now, the Radeon HD 5000 and 6000 series were able to drive monitor configurations with a maximum of 3 display in row and 3x1 (in the case of Eyefinity 6) 3x2. 5x1P display mode provides 5 vertically in a row (not landscape).
It is probably the most expensive configuration as it takes high-end monitors with better vertical viewing angle for optimal color reproduction. In the laboratory in Markham (Ontario, Canada) AMD has shown this particular mode of operation with games 3 and Dragon Age DiRT 2. as a 5x1 + 1 with the splitter?
