Gigabyte has introduced to the world the new redesign of the 6-series motherboards for Intel's Sandy Bridge, with the new Intel chipset B3 stepping. The new B3 version of the Gigabyte boards 6 Series has been completely redesigned so that they can be easily distinguished from the previous B2 revision, thanks to the distinctive "B3" beside the model name.
For example, the GA-P67-UD7 now called GD-P67-UD7-B3. The new model name is clearly visible on the package, the PCB, in the BIOS, and all applications such as SATA Gigabyte Check or CPU-Z utility. Check 6 Series SATA GIGABYTE Utility Just know the layout error B2 Intel chipsets, Gigabyte SATA Check utility launched to help optimize the performance of SATA ports, identifying targets 6Gbps SATA can be used, and warning users who do not use the Intel SATA ports affected PCH.
As new B3 Stepping versions are already being distributed, Gigabyte has been quick to update the application so that it also identifies the chipset and version (stepping B2 or B3). Another way to identify the chipset B3 is to see printed on the screen when the computer starts up. The new B3 version of the 6 Series motherboard also has a clear identification on their packaging, so that users can clearly identify.
