F1A75-V EVO and Pro: Asus Llano

Asus has launched two motherboards with a socket for FM1 and therefore the Llano of AMD: the F1A75 and F1A75-V EVO V-Pro. Both based on a chipset A75, both ATX format cards have the latest technology from Asus (Intelligent Dual Processors 2, DIGI + VRM BIOS or UEFI). Relatively similar, these two cards have four connectors DDR3, seven SATA ports (six SATA 6 Gbps) ports and three PCI-Express 16x (only two on the Pro), CrossFireX compatible.

Enermax: the power supply at 1.5 kilowatts MaxRevo

Enermax has added two new models of power supplies to its catalog: the 1350W and 1500W MaxRevo. A version of 1200W "only" should also be provided by the manufacturer. Intended, by Enermax, the configurations 'gamers' high-end, these power supplies - announced earlier this month at CeBIT - are 80Plus certified Gold and show a maximum efficiency of 94%.

Fully modular power supplies have two six +12 V rails and multiple safeguards against surges and short circuits. 13.9 cm fan operating at a speed between 900 and 2000 rpm is responsible for his side to cool the components.

Micron: slight decline in sales

The manufacturer Micron has just released its financial results for its third fiscal quarter 2011, which ended on June 2. Revenues reached $ 2.13 billion, slightly down from last year. Earnings reached for his $ 75 million, up slightly from the second quarter (72 million) but well below the profit of $ 939 million recorded a year ago.

According to Micron, the revenue decline was due to falling sales of DRAM (which results in a decrease of 7% of revenues) and by the contraction of 5% of revenues generated by sales of NAND flash memory due to lower average chips.

Archos G9: the shelves at 1.5 GHz

Archos yesterday presented its new range of shelves, with three generation models 9. Four models will be part of the two models and two 8-inch by 10.1 inches. While all manufacturers today (almost) use a chip Tegra 2-1 GHz in their Tablet, Archos highlights the fact that it uses a Texas Instrument OMAP4, which can reach 1.5 GHz.

The data sheet is not very clear on speed, but obviously the entry-level models will just 1 GHz. The GPU used is the classic PowerVR SGX540, level of ULP GeForce Tegra 2 and about four times slower than the iPad SGX543MP2 2. Good news, Archos will integrate Android 3.1 (or 3.2, it is not clear) and the shelves will have access to the Android Market.

LaCie CloudBox: hard drive and Online Backup

With CloudBox, LaCie is trying to provide a definitive answer to the problem of the backup. This hard drive offers indeed a function of automatic duplication of data assigned to a remote server in the "cloud". The CloudBox unfortunately offers only a limited capacity to 100 GB, both for its internal hard drive and storage space online.

Its interest lies principally in the automation of the process: no need to launch an application in the background on your computer or start thinking about yourself backup, Gigabit Ethernet CloudBox connected to your LAN does it all once a day. Online backups are encrypted before transmission via a 128-bit AES algorithm and unlike DropBox, for example, LaCie does not know your encryption key.
