TDJ: NH-D14 Pro Rock vs. Dark C1

Our fellow Cowcotland recently published a comparison between testing two cooling systems for CPUs, namely the Noctua NH-D14 and Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro C1. Format turn, these two rather impressive coolers consist of a aluminum radiator crossed by several copper heat pipes (six for the NH-d14, seven on the model of Be Quiet!), A copper base and two fans (120 mm or 140 mm).

The Accelero Xtreme Arctic moves to "Plus II"

The manufacturer has unveiled its Arctic Accelero Xtreme Plus II, a cooling system for graphics cards (Radeon HD 2900XT to HD 6970, and GeForce 7800GT to GTX 580). Showing the dimensions of 288 x 103 x 50 mm and weighs 900 grams on the scale, this cooler is made of an aluminum radiator crossed by five copper heat pipes of 6 mm in diameter, the whole being surmounted by three PWM fans 92 mm (operating at a speed between 900 and 2000 revolutions per minute).

Scythe Kozuti: a cooler for HTPC

Scythe has just unveiled the Kozuti, a cooling system, low-profile for processors on Socket AM2 and LGA 775/115x/1366 / 3. Showing dimensions of only 110 x 103 x 40 mm and weighs 250 grams, this cooler is of type Top-Flow, that is to say that the fan 80 mm PWM (operating at speeds between 800 and 3300 revolutions per minute) is placed under the aluminum radiator.

The latter is crossed by three copper heat pipes of 6 mm in diameter. The noise is about them between 8.2 dB (A) (sic) and 32.5 dB (A). The manufacturer finally announces a suggested list price of 22.90 euros, excluding taxes. It remains to see the performance of this cooler ...

Our fellow Cowcotland just put online a test of the Polaris 120 of Swiftech, a cooling system for processors on Socket LGA 775, 115x, 1366 and AM2 / 3. In tower format, this cooler shows dimensions of 91 x 135 x 152 mm and weighs 849 grams. It consists of an aluminum radiator crossed by several copper heatpipes and a 120mm fan.

CM thinks of notebooks that are hot

While we are only in May, Cooler Master is thinking about the summer heat in a few weeks which should begin to hurt our dear and tender laptops. The manufacturer has indeed to announce the launch of Infinite NotePal EVO, a cooling system for notebooks with 17 inch or less. Showing the dimensions of 410 x 310 x 61 mm and weighs 1.2 kg, the Infinity NotePal EVO has an aluminum frame and carries two 80mm fans running at a speed adjustable between 750 and 1400 rpm.

Scythe: a cooler of 1.6 kg with 4 Ventilos

The manufacturer Scythe has announced the launch of a new model of cooling system for CPUs, Susanoo. Compatible with the CPU on socket AM2 and LGA 775/115x/1366 / 3, this cooler is rather large, with dimensions of 210 x 210 x 160 mm. It is also relatively heavy since it reached 1565 grams on the scale.

Composed of a radiator through which 12 copper heat pipes, four 100 mm fans (running at a speed between 500 and 2000 revolutions per minute) and a copper base is also topped with a little extra heat sink, the Susanoo should not be difficult to dissipate heat generated by any CPU. Note finally announced maximum noise 37.69 dB (A).

A cooler "slim" 28-mm in Gelid

The manufacturer Gelid Solutions has launched the Slim Silence i-Plus, a cooling system in the format "slim", designed for HTPC enclosures and other compact 1U platform. Compatible processors on socket LGA 1155, 775 and 1156, this cooler shows the dimensions of 95 x 93.5 x 28 mm and is equipped with a 75 mm fan.

The latter operates at a speed between 1200 and 2600 revolutions per minute, the noise does not exceed 27.8 dB (A). Guaranteed five years, Slim-Plus Silence i finally posted to 26 dollars or 20 euros.

Swiftech manufacturer has unveiled the Polaris 120, a cooling system for processors in LGA 775/115x/1366 and 754, 939, 940, AM2 and F / 3. In tower format, this cooler shows dimensions of 135 x 91 x 152 mm and weighs up to 849 grams on the scale. Duracool the Chinese manufacturer has just unveiled a new CPU coolers, the Fiend Shark XT. Showing the dimensions of 157 x 156 x 131 mm, it is composed of a 140 mm fan (700 to 1200 revolutions per minute, for noise between 18.2 dB and 24.9 dB) and All copper radiators, connected to a base by six heat pipes also copper.

The use of this metal also explains the rather impressive weight of this cooler: 1.837 kg on the scales! Compatible processors on Socket AM2 and LGA 775/1366/115x / 3, the fiend Sharl XT has unfortunately not yet prices. It also remains to know the date of availability for Europe.

This unit is equipped with interchangeable connectors, a USB connector, a charge indicator light and boasting an original design. Verdict? For his part, Brother Home Media has just published a comparative test involving several coolers "slim" or "low-profile, models adapted to compact HTPC.

Mine 2: New CPU cooler from Scythe

The manufacturer Scythe has unveiled a new cooling system for CPUs, Mine 2. Compatible with the CPU on socket AM2 and LGA 775/115x/1366 / 3, the heatpipe tower format consists of a 140 mm PWM fan sandwiched between two aluminum radiators, connected to a copper base, eight heat pipes copper. For its part, the fan is capable of operating at speeds between 470 and 1900 rpm.
