AMD has now officially expanded its family of GPUs Nothern Islands (Radeon HD 6000) video cards on the market featuring Radeon HD 6670, 6570 and 6450. The first two proposals are based on core Turks and addressed to the segment value, while the third solution is based on core and Caicos intended for entry-level.
All three GPUs are built with 40nm process, are compatible with Microsoft DirectX11 API and are available with a low-profile type of layout. The Radeon HD 6670 integrated 480 SPs, with 8 ROPs and 24 TMUs and provides an allocation of 1GB of GDDR5 video memory connected via 128-bit bus width.
The GPU has a clock speed of 800MHz while the video memory operates at 4000 MHz (effective). The TDP is 66W and the marketing price of 99 Dollars. To find the Radeon HD 6570 512MB GDDR5 (4000 MHz) or 1GB DDR3 (1800 MHz), always combined with a 128-bit memory bus width. The number of SPs, ROPs and TMUs is unchanged but the frequency of the GPU clock (and thus also that of the shaders) drops to 650MHz.
The TDP ranging from 60W (GDDR5) and 44W (DDR3) and the marketing price is less than $ 79. The Radeon HD 6450 has 160 SPs, with 8 TMUs and 4 ROPs. The memory bus is 64-bit, paired with DDR3 memory (1066 ~ 1600MHz) or GDDR5 (3200 ~ 4000MHz). The GPU operates at 625 or 750MHz depending on the implementation partner.
The TDP ranging from 18W (DDR3) to 27W (GDDR5) and the price of commercializzazine is less than $ 55. The card is available with active cooling system (single slot) or passive (dual slot).
