DisplayPort and Thunderbolt have the wind at your back

The Display Port becoming increasingly popular with an increase in shipments of DisplayPort-compatible 150% from one year to another. ISuppli analysts predict that this triple-digit growth expected to continue for another two years. The Thunderbolt also seems to take this evolution. The world goes HD, which means that DisplayPort and HDMI are becoming the default choice for manufacturers.

With the programmed death of the VGA 2015 and the willingness of manufacturers to offer this port as standard, iSuppli estimates that the number of compatible products delivered should reach 500 million by 2014. This phenomenon is visible on all graphics products. Thus, the inclusion of a DisplayPort port on graphics cards has doubled this year.

Nokia Symbian separates

Nokia has announced - in 4000 more layoffs - as Symbian and 3 000 people working on it would be transferred to Accenture. It is quite surprising, in that Accenture is a consulting firm and not a company specializing in the development of mobile operating systems. The transfer should take place during the summer - if accepted - and ended at the end of 2011.

Accenture should continue to develop Symbian and Nokia to provide its mobile devices. It is interesting to note that Nokia will no longer develop its smartphone operating systems in-house: Meego is focused by Intel, Windows 7 Phone evidently comes from Microsoft and Symbian, therefore, changes in hand ...

Available in capacities of 64 GB, 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB, m4 shows up to 40,000 IOPS performance in reading and 4 KB 50 000 write IOPS (except the 64GB model which is limited to 20,000 IOPS writing).

A Wi-Fi 11n ... for public places

Ruckus Wireless offers a new 802.11n Wi-Fi hotspot "professional", which improves - according to the company - the range and throughput. The ZoneFlex 7341 is compatible 802.11n, but is limited to the 2.4 GHz band (some working in 5 GHz) and can be powered via Ethernet. The terminal can be hung on the wall, supports QoS to limit certain uses and may create eight different SSID, which is interesting in some places.

75 000 IOPS for the Vertex 3 OCZ

The manufacturer OCZ has unveiled an enhanced version of its Vertex 3 launched earlier this year called for the occasion IOPS Max Edition. Capable of reaching 75,000 IOPS read 4 KB, cons 'only' 60 000 IOPS for the classic 3 Vertex, the SSD uses a controller SandForce SF-2200 and has a SATA 6 Gbps. It also uses the NAND memory Toggle Toshiba etched into 32 nm, where the performance improved slightly.
